The First LNG Storage Tank Base Slab Heating System by SECT-Skin effect heating Frost heave protection by SECT system |
|||
JNC Engineering has developed the tank base slab heating system using
SECT - Skin effect heating system- and got the first order of this system
for the LNG storage tank in Taiwan. This is the first application in the world. Up to the present, two types of heating system are mainly employed for
LNG strage tank base slab heating for frost heave protection. One is the
liquid trace system and another is parallel resistance electric heating
cable embedded in conduit pipe. |

Principle and Basic Structure The SECT tube (heat tube) is directly buried into base slab. And a heat resistant electric cable (SECT cable) passed through the tube. When an alternating current is applied to this heat resistant cable, the induction current concentrates and flows only on the inner surface of the tube by ski effect. The tube heats by joule heat, and warms the base slab. Clilck here to get more detail about SECT system |
